Thala’s Mankatha In The Hindu’s Kollywood’s Eleven

Bharathiar’s great grandson in Mankatha

There are two news about Niranjan. One is that he is debuting as a lyricist in Mankatha and the second is that he is the great grandson of Maha Kavi Bharathiar. Niranjan is an Ag Mark Chennai guy. Now he is staying in Hyderabad in connection with his studies. Niranjan is the son of the popular Carnatic singer Rajkumar Bharathi. Niranjan said that he use to scribble some poems in his school days and he started to write poems in his later days. He while speaking said,” After completing B E, I had worked in an IT concern for two and half years. I did not like it. So for the sake of security I am now studying M B A. My dream is to become a full time lyricist.
Many are telling that since I am a great grandson of Bharathiar, there will be comments if I write songs for cinema. I am blessed because I have come from the lineage of Bharathiar. Apart from this I should decide about my career. My long time dream is to write songs for cinema. What is wrong in that? But my only thing is that I will be careful that I should not spoil the image of my great grandfather in whatever field I choose. With regard to Mankatha, I had been meeting lots of people to get offers. I gave the compilations of the song written by me to Venkat Prabhu sir. In his younger days he used to play mirundhangam for my father’s concerts. Because of this I knew him and I was able to approach him. He said that we both can work.
After four months when he commenced the shooting of Mankatha, I got a call from him. He told me to be ready to write a song. I was in cloud nine. All of my close friends are ardent fans of Ajith. They started motivating me to write a wonderful song for Ajith through Facebook and phone. I told my dad about this. He gave his blessing and told me to keep in mind that he belongs to Bharathiar’s clan. The song which I have written for this film is that the hero and heroine will express their love in a decent way. Though Venkat Prabhu is a jolly person, he is a very strict person as far as work is concerned. He will not get satisfied until he gets the lines perfect. After some corrections, my song was okayed. Venkat Prabhu liked this song very much.”

Actress Anjali Interview about Mankatha Experiance

Trisha’s perfectionist!

Call it her perfectionist or love for her character, Trisha surprises everyone with her role in ‘Mankatha’
It seems after working with Kamal Haasan his perfection has rubbed on to costar Trisha as well. The actress couldn’t fail to surprise her team of ‘Manakatha’ by speaking Tamil in a unique country accent just like an expert.
Trisha plays a Chennai slum girl in Mankatha. A huge slum set has been erected in Chennai outskirts where she is shooting with co-star Ajith Kumar. It is believed that the actress has learned the typical accent spoken in the area which they are showing in the film.
The actress surprised co star Ajith and the entire team by speaking to them in the same dialect. Now that’s called perfection. Anything for role right Trisha!

Is Trisha Playing A Slum-Dweller In Mankatha?

Looks like Venkat Prabhu's Mankatha with Ajith is one of the hottest films to be discussed in the film circuit.
After the rumours that the film had been dropped due to financial troubles, the latest one doing the rounds is that Trisha plays a slum-dweller in the film! .
When TOI contacted Venkat Prabhu, he clarified, "Even I read that gossip! But no, Trisha is not playing a slum girl and she is also not learning Madras baashai for the film. She plays a Chennai girl, who is brought up in Mumbai."
That's one down!

When Vijay Met Ajith....

For all those who thought Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Thala Ajith can't see eye-to-eye, here's some news.
The two stars recently met each other while shooting for their respective films and even posed for pictures together!
Ajith was shooting for Mankatha at a mill near the airport and Vijay was shooting for his Velayudham at a spot nearby. When the two came to know that there were shooting close by, they decided to meet up and bond.
And guess who got lucky? Venkat Prabhu and Premgi! When Vijay and Ajith met up at one of their caravans, Venkat and Premgi clicked pictures with them. Premgi even made Vijay and Ajith pose in his trademark style.
What's more, Vijay even gifted Ajith for serving him biryani.
Venkat Prabhu tweeted, "Wow, Thala and Thalapathy in the same place shooting. It was great to see both of them together. Thala for Mankatha and Thalapathy for Velayudham."
Now, if only the two would come together onscreen. Sigh!
